So you have heard how much money a real estate agent makes and want to grab your real estate license to cash in?
Obtaining your real estate license in any state requires several steps. These steps need to be followed in the precise order that is required otherwise, your quest to become a real estate agent will be pointless.
Becoming a real estate agent in the state of Wyoming is no different. There are certain steps you have to follow to prepare for the exam process to become licensed. One of the main steps includes taking a pre-licensing course.

The educational material in the pre-licensing course is designed to get you accustomed to and acquainted with all of the terminology pertaining to the real estate industry. More importantly, it is also intended to make you more familiar with real estate laws and practices in the state of Wyoming.

The test results from your pre-licensing exam need to be enclosed with the package along with your proof of errors and omissions insurance. A copy of your birth certificate and driver’s license is required as part of the complete package. Once you have all of the required documents along with the signed and notarized application, You submit the entire package to the Wyoming Real Estate Commission and Certified Appraiser Board (WREC).
It is important to note a few things here. First of all, the application needs to be filled out in its entirety or it will be returned. This could delay the application process. Secondly, it is also important to note that this application must be filled out and submitted within 90 days of the notice date that informs you of your passing score for your pre-licensing exam. Lastly, it is important to note that the WREC mainly communicates through email. It is imperative that you check your email constantly for any updates in your application process.
Schedule, take and pass the exam
Once you have received notification from the WREC, you are now able to schedule and take your real estate exam. Just like the pre-licensing exam, the real estate exam is structured in the same way. There’s a total of 132 multiple-choice questions. The make of the questions includes 100 national questions and the other 32 questions are state-specific questions. You are allowed three and a half hours to complete the exam. It is important to note that you will need two forms of identification that are current and contain a valid signature. Some examples could include a driver’s license, passport or even a social security card. You would need to bring a basic non-scientific calculator with you.
