It never fails. At least once a month, one of my students will e-mail me asking how they can cheat on the real estate exam. They are often surprised when I respond and show them examples of past students who have tried to cheat on the real estate exam. Spoiler alert, some of them do and get away with it. However, that is only part of the story….
How Students Have Tried To Cheat On The Real Estate Exam
One of my students, let’s call him “Brian” e-mailed me and told me he passed the real estate exam without studying my material. I was obviously very interested in where this conversation was going, so I engaged with him, “How did you do that?” I asked. Brian had hid my “cheat sheet” (which all my students have) in the bathroom. Once the real estate exam started, he made a short mental list of what topics he did not know and asked his instructor if he could go to the bathroom. Once in the bathroom, he reviewed the cheat sheet, came back in the room and answered the questions correctly.
Now, you may be telling yourself “This is a great idea!”. You’re wrong.
Brian had the wrong mindset. Knowing the material is not really the most important aspect of getting your real estate license. You see, to be successful in this industry, you have to make sacrifices. You have to do a lot of things you don’t like to do. You have to put in work when you really want to be home in the bed.
The real estate exam is more than just a bunch of real estate exam questions. It is a test to see how you will hustle, grind and execute in your life.
Brian never did become successful. In fact, he quit his career after six-months. No surprise to those of us who understand what it takes to be successful and start making real money in this industry as a real estate agent.
What Can Happen If You Cheat On Your Real Estate Exam?
So the benefits of cheating are obvious, but what are the cons?
In my real estate exam study group, we had a young lady that got caught cheating.

Now what do you think should happen to this young lady? If you recall from your studies, one of the most important jobs we have as real estate agents is promoting public trust. If the public does not trust us, our profession is dead.
Now, I am not one to judge this young lady. I have cheated in the past when I was in high school and also when I was in college. So, I really am not the best person to cast judgement.
But if you are caught cheating, they can take your license or even prosecute you! It’s just not worth it.

I really don’t think most people want to cheat on their real estate exam, it’s just that they feel like they don’t have any options. My job as a real estate instructor is to give you that confidence you need to pass your real estate exam.
